Virtual Builders: Minecraft club

Saturday 29 June14.00 – 16.00

Take part in design and build challenges and meet other gamers at the Farrell Centre’s new Minecraft club.

In line with the opening of our new exhibition BUILDING, the Farrell centre will be launching its own Minecraft club. This bi-weekly club will explore the potential of Minecraft as a tool to understand Architecture, Design and City Planning. Farrell Centre staff will set Minecraft design and build challenges for participants and offer a space for gamers and their parents to come together and share the worlds they have created. This programme was developed in collaboration with a group of primary school children.

Thoughtful Design – Sat 29 June

In this session, we will think about how buildings are used and how this impacts their design, looking at prominent public buildings, playgrounds, and civic spaces across the world first as inspiration. Gamers will be given different activities; they must create spatial and architectural designs to suit.
