Saturday 14 June 202514.00 – 16.00
Take part in design and build challenges and meet other gamers at the Farrell Centre’s own Minecraft club.
This bi-weekly club will explore the potential of Minecraft as a tool to understand Architecture, Design and City Planning. Farrell Centre staff will set Minecraft design and build challenges for participants and offer a space for gamers and their parents to come together and share the worlds they have created. This programme was developed in collaboration with a group of primary school children.
14th June – Collaborate
Good architecture takes great teamwork. Inspired by the surrealist game Exquisite Corpse, gamers will create fantastical building designs, which each participant will contribute to. We will then attempt to translate these into Minecraft and discuss the results.
Important information
- Participants must bring their own device to play, with the Minecraft app pre-installed
- Participants must be accompanied by an adult throughout, however only gamers require a ticket
- We have a quiet room available if for any reason children feel overwhelmed or need to take some time out from gaming
- We will play in Creative Mode, participants will be provided with a unique Seed Code at the start of each session which they must build within
