Saturday 8 August14.00 – 15.30
Take part in design and build challenges and meet other gamers at the Farrell Centre’s own Minecraft club.
This regular club will explore the potential of Minecraft as a tool to understand Architecture, Design and City Planning. Farrell Centre staff will set Minecraft design and build challenges for participants and offer a space for gamers and their parents to come together and share the worlds they have created. This programme was developed in collaboration with a group of primary school children.
Saturday 8th August – Statues
Cities and towns have statues all over them, but do we ever really stop and look at what the statues are, who they honour, or what they mean? We’ll explore a range of famous statues around the world; from the Angel in the North to Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, all the way down to the Peter Rabbit statues that have taken over Newcastle. Create your own statue to someone or something special to you!
