Join us for an insightful spotlight tour of our current exhibition, Brasília of the North.
At the core our our new project, Concrete Dreams, is the exhibition Brasília of the North which explores the ideas, personalities and broader social, cultural and political climate that underpinned the aspirations to transform Newcastle into a modernist city.
Exhibits include the 6m-long Newcastle city model dating from the 1960s, the original model for Gateshead’s Trinity Square Carpark, a Metro ‘cube’, and a range of maps, books, drawings, photographs and films.
A member of the Farrell Centre team will guide you through the exhibition, providing unique insights into the making of the exhibition and the ideas and objects that shape it.
About Concrete Dreams
Running September 2024 to June 2025, Concrete Dreams is a project exploring how Tyneside was transformed during 1960s and 1970s and the ways we might reimagine the city of today. Find out more
