Workshops

Terrazzo Time

Saturday 20 July10.30 – 15.00

Join us for a creative casting workshop, with maker Kay Carter, where you will learn how to create your own terrazzo style homewares.

In the spirit of our current exhibition BUILDING, we have created a programme of activities to encourage our visitors to connect with the process of building and making, and get hands-on with live projects in our galleries.

In this unique workshop, Terrazzo expert Kay Carter will lead us in using pigmented Jesmonite to create Terrazzo style homewares. The process will emulate real-life concrete fabrication from casting through to polishing. The Jesmonite provides us with a eco-friendly and safe alternative to concrete, leaving you with durable and sustainable homewares to take home!

What to expect

Learn new skills: Learn first-hand from Kay about the casting process.

Hands-on making: An opportunity to experiment with new materials and processes.

Create unique objects for your home: Take home your hand-crafted terrazzo creation!

Important information

This workshop will break for a 30-minute lunch at 12.30. Lunch is not provided, but teas and coffees will be available.

Please note this workshop is for participants aged 18+.
