Thursday 26 November18.00–19.30
Creating a collaborative manifesto for the future of housing in the North East.
What needs to change to bring an end to the current housing crisis? How we can build a city, region – and country – that provides housing for all?
As the culmination of the Farrell Centre’s Housing for All season, this event is an open platform for activists, policymakers, architects, planners, developers, academics and local communities to put forward their ideas, recommendations and insights for how to ensure everyone has access to good quality, affordable housing.
Ten speakers will each be allocated five minutes to articulate and argue for one proposal around policy, design, ownership, energy, management or whatever they think most urgently needs to change. Once each speaker has had their turn, there will be questions from the chair and an opportunity for contributions from the audience. The intention is that the proceedings of the event will be published as a ‘Manifesto for Housing’ in the North East and beyond.
The event is conceived as an open platform and we very much welcome pitches or proposals from anyone who would like to contribute. Please send a short (100 word max) outline of your proposal to hello@farrellcentre.org.uk and one of the team will get back to you. We will respond to every email, but cannot guarantee your inclusion in the event.
