Design a NEW-castle
Times: 10.00 – 16.00
Help us design NEWcastle! We’ll be getting hands-on and creative in our outdoor space as we draft a new vision for our city. Inspired by our New Towns display, and the research of Dr Christos Kakalis, we’ll explore the planning principles involved in some iconic North East New Towns, from Killingworth to Washington, and invite you to add your ideas to our very own New Town using a range of crates, bricks and building materials. Can you design innovative housing? Will you create some green space? Perhaps you have an idea for some boundary-pushing public art? NEWcastle will evolve throughout the day to represent the ideas and aspirations of our visitors.

Build Your Future University
Times: 10:15-11:15, 11:45-12:45, 13:30-14:30, 15:00-16:00
Do you wonder what the world will look like in the future? Using LEGO and your creativity, design an inclusive university fit for a diverse world. With some Lego pieces and a spark of creativity, we’re asking you to design a university that welcomes everyone in all their diversity.
Suitable for families with children young and old (ages 6 – 18). Booking required.
