Accessibility Information

Do you have an accessible toilet?

We have an accessible toilet on both Level 0 and Level 2 of the building. Please ask staff or look at building signage which will show you the way.

Can I bring my assistance dog to the Farrell Centre with me?

Yes, assistance dogs are welcome at the Farrell Centre.

Do you have sensory backpacks on offer?

We have two sensory backpacks to borrow on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please ask a member of staff on arrival for more information.

Do you have any induction loops?

Yes, please ask staff as you arrive to use this facility.

Do you have a wheelchair I can borrow?

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a wheelchair on site for visitors to borrow.

Do you have quieter times when I can visit?

As we are a brand-new venue, we don’t yet have enough information about when the centre is quieter. After a couple of months of opening, we will update this section with definite times the centre is likely to be quiet. However, we anticipate the centre being quieter at the start and end of the day (10.00–11.00 and 16.00–17.00).

Do you have any places to sit in the Centre?

Yes, there is seating available on both Level 1 outside the exhibition spaces, and on Level 2 throughout the Urban Rooms. If additional seating would help support your visit please get in touch in advance, or speak to a member of staff on arrival and we will work with you to offer additional seating as required.

Does the building have a lift?

Yes, we have a lift, and all floors are wheelchair accessible.

I have further questions regarding accessibility, where can I get them answered?

If you have any questions which haven’t been answered by our FAQs, please get in contact with us at farrellcentre@newcastle.ac.uk or (0191) 208 0071
