During opening hours
The city belongs to everyone. And everyone should have a voice in the conversation about its future. We have created the Urban Rooms to help make that possible.
16 April 2026 – 28 August 2026
A display by Masters students exploring a speculative New Town in the North East.
16 April – 28 August 2026
A display of work from the AmberSide Collection exploring northern New Towns and planned communities.
An evolving range of displays, objects and activities exploring how architecture and planning have shaped the Tyneside of today and the roles they can play in reimagining it for tomorrow.
At the Farrell Centre, there’s something for all the family. We offer regular hands-on workshops at the weekend and during half term and holidays suitable for a broad range of ages, plus sessions for babies, toddlers – and their parents, of course – during the week.
We offer a vibrant programme of workshops for school groups in Key Stages 2, 3 and 4. Whether you’re looking for an exhibition tour, a hands-on making session or a creative writing activity, our workshops offer your pupils new ways of looking at the city and world around them, whilst also working in sync with the National Curriculum.
