Virtual Builders: Minecraft club

Saturday 6 April 202414.00 – 16.00

Take part in design and build challenges and meet other gamers at the Farrell Centre’s new Minecraft club.

In line with the opening of our new exhibition BUILDING, the Farrell centre will be launching its own Minecraft club. This bi-weekly club will explore the potential of Minecraft as a tool to understand Architecture, Design and City Planning. Farrell Centre staff will set Minecraft design and build challenges for participants and offer a space for gamers and their parents to come together and share the worlds they have created. This programme was developed in collaboration with a group of primary school children.

Design and Build – Sat 6 April

In this session, we challenge our Minecraft-ers to first create designs on paper and then translate them into the game. Our team will provide graph paper and some building inspiration to get the ideas going. Each session will have time for participants to feedback to the group and share their designs.

Important information

Participants must bring their own device to play on and be accompanied by an adult throughout. There will be refreshments for both gamers and adults.

These sessions will be played in Creative Mode, participants will be provided with a unique Seed Code at the start of each session which they must build within.
